Benjamin Franklin

Image
Benjamin Franklin was the first person to discover the principle of "Conservation of Charge", which is the principle that the total electric charge in an isolated system never changes. He might be most famous among young students for his proposed experiment to prove that lightning is electricity by flying a kite in a storm in 1750. He developed the idea of the lightning rod and bifocals that helped near and far sighted vision impairments. He also conducted experiments and observations about things like refrigeration, temperature's effect on electrical conductivity, oceanography, traction kiting, and demography. Nikola Tesla

Image
Nikola Tesla was a Serbian-American inventor, electrical engineer, mechanical engineer, physicist, and futurist who is best known for his contributions to the design of the modern alternating current electricity supply system. He competed again Thomas Edison's Direct Current system with his own Alternating Current system in the late 1800's in the "War of Currents." He spoke eight languages, produced the first motor that ran on AC Current, developed technology for wireless communication over long distances, held about 300 patents, and "claimed" to have developed a "superweapon" that would end all war. Leonardo Da Vinci was the ideal Renaissance Man. He was a writer, painter, sculptor, science, engineering, anatomy, astronomy, and more. Some of his more famous inventions and ideas include ideas for flying machines, parachutes, giant crossbows, a more accurate clock, triple barrel canon, armored vehicle, scuba gear, revolving mobile bridge, and city plans. He of course was also an accomplished painter as the artist composing the Mona Lisa, The Last Supper, and the Vitruvian Man. References- http://www.da-vinci-inventions.com/davinci-inventions.aspx
